関係詞節は、主文と従属節が関係を持つ構造です。
主文と関係詞節は、
関係詞（that、which、who、whom、whose、where、whenなど）によって結ばれます。
以下に例を挙げます。
関係詞 “that” を使用した例
- This is the book that I bought yesterday.（これは私が昨日買った本です。）
- The house that Jack built is very old.（ジャックが建てた家はとても古いです。）
関係詞 “which” を使用した例
- She finally found the keys, which she had been searching for all morning.（彼女はついに朝から探していた鍵を見つけました。）
- The car, which was parked outside, had a flat tire.（外に駐車されていた車はパンクしていました。）
関係詞 “who” を使用した例
- The man who lives next door is a doctor.（隣に住んでいる男性は医者です。）
- She is the one who won the competition.（彼女はそのコンテストに勝った人です。）
関係詞 “where” を使用した例
- I know a place where we can eat delicious pizza.（おいしいピザを食べられる場所を知っています。）
- This is the park where we had our picnic last summer.（これは去年夏にピクニックをした公園です。）
関係詞 “when” を使用した例
- Do you remember the day when we first met?（私たちが初めて出会った日を覚えていますか？）
- That was the time when I realized I had made a mistake.（それが私が間違いを犯したと気づいた時でした。）
これらの例では、関係詞節がそれぞれ異なる関係詞で導入され、主文と関係を持ちながら、情報を補完しています。
